Italian cooking is one of the delightful aspects of Italian life and the experience of living an everyday life in our country house will disclose many of its secrets. To the pleasure of learning Italian you will add that of savouring and, should you wish so, of learning how to prepare some of the most renowned dishes of Sicilian cuisine.

Every region of Italy has its unique way of preparing pasta, its special breads, pastry and wines. Such a variety of tastes is one of the pleasures when travelling in this country and also an extra motivation for improving one's knowledge of the language.

In Sicily you will enjoy a number of delicious preparations for pasta, fish, meat, vegetables, all flavoured with the great variety of herbs that grow so lavishly in such a privileged climate.

And as a dessert, do not forget to taste a Sicilian cassata, rich in candied fruit, or a couple of "cannoli" filled with ricotta, a sort of very light and sweet cottage cheese.
