Learning Italian in Sicily
The italian language courses are organized on the basis of
3 hours lessons every day, six days a week.
The lessons can be individual or in small groups
with a maximum of 4 students of the same level.
All levels can be taken care of, from total beginners
to the preparation of examination for the
"Certificazione dell'italiano come seconda lingua".

Giuliana Aragona uses a direct method together with specialized texts and original audiovisual didactic material. Students are presented concrete cases of authentic everyday life situations which they can hear, watch and read about. This material is then analyzed from the grammatical point of view and used in other activities with the aim of helping students to memorize vocabulary and syntactic patterns.
Unlike traditional schools for foreigners, Don Gaspano does not limit its task to the time of lessons but carries on its teaching all along the day, through many various activities, encounters with friends and neighbours, small talk and discussions, all this in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.
Pleasure being the key to any successful learning procedure, it has been observed that students who have the opportunity of using the italian language in many natural and pleasant occasions learn more rapidly and remember better.
